Press B (Ctrl or X) to engage in combat when near enemy

Some enemies are hostile and will attack if you get close 

Press Start (enter) to open menu, accessing Status, Item, Quests (not implemented), and Save menu.

During combat, press A or B to bring up action menus. Not all abilities are scripted yet.

Day-Night cycle works (24 minute days)

Enemies respawn after 1 minute or so. 

Novitiate tops out at level 10, and if you're level 10 you can "upgrade" to one of the player classes available by talking to a Skeleton, who will give you a menu to choose from. This starts you back over at level 1 but with the advantages of the stat gains made as a Novitiate. Class abilities for these advanced classes have yet to be fleshed out.
